Application Policies at a Glance

  • Bring valid government photo ID showing your legal name, birth date and signature. Supply your Social Security number if issued; the card itself is not required.
  • Read the Family Law Handbook. Know the exact date any previous marriage ended.
  • The standard license fee is $86. A qualifying registered premarital course, like “Before We Say I Do,” coached by Rev. Riana, and an original completion certificate can reduce it to $61 and waive the three-day waiting period. Rev. Riana will issue your completion certificate by email immediately after your course. Confirm with the Clerk how to submit the required original certificate before your license application. Both nonresident applicants may qualify for a waiting-period exemption with the required proof.
  • The license can be used anywhere in Florida within 60 days of its effective date. Check the dates printed on your license.
  • Be sure to bring your issued, valid license to your ceremony with Rev. Riana. She will sign your license with you immediately after your ceremony. It will then be ready to return to the courthouse; if you provide the required postage on the return envelope, she will mail it for you.
  • Contact the Clerk directly about applicants under 18. Underage applications are handled at the Central Courthouse.

Confirm fees, accepted payment methods, identification and holiday closures directly with the Clerk before visiting.
